Excellence is a word that many use, but a quality that few truly deliver. In our business, it’s all about consistency - doing it right every time, doing it better than others.
It comes from process and planning for quality. Establishing what needs to be done to an approved standard and comfortably hitting that benchmark every day. There’s no such thing as too accurate, over-efficient, or more reliable than necessary.
Through audit and inspection, we progressively eliminate errors and transform processes into robust but flexible models. This procedure is always positive; there are never wrongs in process improvement. It’s also inclusive, so that all key players are involved and can propose and trial improvements.
Incoming stock must be carefully inspected and tested with clear and defined holding and quarantine procedures. Nothing substandard can ever reach the line. Equally, stock level adjustment and build schedule data must be provided to the client as a priority. Once production is secured, fast turnaround replacement or rework contingent processes can be put in place.
The control of non-conforming finished goods is central to maintaining quality. Some finished goods won’t meet a client’s standards or fail in use, so the control and quarantine of rejected finished goods must be faultless. Scrappage and rework or warranty repair cycles must be handled in isolation, and any return to the production line must be tightly controlled. What matters now is supporting the client with fast reporting and expert help, to rework the processes at fault.
